$120,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Assistant Controller

With a diverse portfolio of interesting and challenging work, the position will provide support through preparation, analysis, reconciliation, and review of a wide variety of financial documents and information. The Assistant Controller will collaborate closely with the other members of the Accounting Department and will report directly to the VP of Accounting and Finance The ideal candidate will be a CPA out of public accounting or with a combination of public accounting and corporate accounting experience. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ASSISTANT CONTROLLER: Supervise and mentor accounting team. Assist with monthly and quarterly financial close procedures. Prepare internal and external financial statements/reports. Review or perform monthly journal entries, including technical accounting entries. Investigate G/L fluctuations and variances and provide explanations to management. Support revenue and joint interest billing and other oil and gas specific items. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting team. Foster a collaborative team environment. Work closely with management and staff to meet deadlines and business objectives. Other special projects as identified. QUALIFICATIONS OF THE ASSISTANT CONTROLLER Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting. CPA required. 4+ years of experience required including some public accounting Strong GAAP Experience with Bolo and Open Invoice a plus. Exceptional knowledge of Excel and MS Office applications. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Highest level of integrity with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Target salary range: $120,000 - $150,000+ DOE.
