Supervisor, Advanced Practice Professionals (APP)

This position will support our APP practice in the Department of Neuro Oncology. The

APP Supervisor

will work with department leadership to build expectations for APP practices and policies, ensure consistency in the practice and utilization of APPs, and manage the APPs, including both inpatient and outpatient individual physician assistants and nurse practitioners. In addition, this position serves as an APP, practicing medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center (MCC). This position provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group and serves as a member of the academic medical enterprise, advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. Position Highlights:

This position will have 20% dedicated administrative time for supervisory and administrative duties. This position oversees APP recruitment, performance, orientation, training, call coverage, and time-off requests. Assists physicians with evaluation, management, and treatment of patients with various medical problems, procedures, and co-morbidities. Works within a defined scope of practice under supervising physicians or protocols. The Ideal Candidate:

Supervises APP team, conducts annual reviews, manages recruitment, training, and scheduling. Collaborates with leadership to develop practices and policies ensuring consistency. Provides patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team, coordinates with specialists, formulates diagnoses, develops treatment plans within scope, prescribes medications when appropriate, and documents care per medical staff rules. Credentials and Qualifications:

Active BLS and ACLS certifications. At least 2 years of experience as an oncology mid-level provider (PA-C or APRN). Minimum 1 year of experience in a specialty. Proficient with EHR systems and knowledgeable of mid-level scope of practice and medical staff regulations. Demonstrated leadership skills, including project management and committee participation. Licensure, certification, and registration as an NP or PA to practice in Florida.
