Langan seeks an
Environmental Practice Leader
specializing in waterfront projects to join our team in the
Pacific Northwest (PNW) . This role involves overseeing and expanding Langan's Environmental Practice in the PNW, focusing on shoreline remediation and surface water sediment cleanups. You will leverage Langan's technical expertise and leadership to manage diverse waterfront projects and contribute to our industry-renowned practice growth. Job Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new clients, including ports and shoreline entities. Develop work within existing projects and participate in business development meetings. Leverage client relationships to bring new projects to Langan. Manage and oversee junior staff on environmental projects, including coaching, training, and hiring. Deliver multiple waterfront projects within budgets, schedules, and deadlines. Perform complex analyses related to shoreline remediation and sediment cleanup. Interface professionally with clients, regulators, contractors, staff, and project teams. Supervise project managers on field activities for shoreline and sediment assessments. Ensure projects comply with shoreline regulations and standards. Organize, write, and edit reports and proposals for environmental projects. Coordinate work across teams and offices as needed. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Science; Master’s preferred. Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) license required. 15+ years of experience in environmental investigations and remediation, with focus on waterfront projects and shoreline clients. Deep knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., Oregon DEQ, Washington DOE, USEPA, CERCLA, RCRA), especially shoreline regulations. Strong management and client relations skills. Proficiency in technical analyses and related software. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and judgment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
