Senior Director, Private Equity Fund Accounting

The Investment Manager Services Division (IMS) at SEI is expanding and seeking new members for our Alternative Investment Funds Fund Accountant Team. Our main goal is to deliver exceptional customer service along with accounting and administrative support for our clients' hedge and private equity funds.
As a Fund Accounting Director, you will be responsible for the daily delivery of premium accounting services to internal and external clients associated with your service relationships. This includes managing tactical accounting operations in alignment with the unit's vision, goals, and policies. You will oversee operational ownership and leadership for a set of service relationships, working collaboratively with senior operations officers, other fund accounting and administration directors, the SEI Solutions Team, external clients, auditors, and vendors to provide cost-effective, efficient, and standardized services.
You will also oversee all operational functions, including transaction initiation and service requests, and supervise managers and supervisors to ensure high-quality service. Your role includes developing and implementing procedures to enhance client service, improve operational efficiency, and align with corporate standards.
What you will do:
Client Management
Understand, communicate, and resolve unique client issues in collaboration with SEI Relationship Teams. Ensure the quality and delivery of Fund Accounting, Shareholder Reporting, and Administration services according to the client-specific service model. Serve as a senior technical and operational resource for clients. Interact with the Board of Directors/Trustees related to your service relationships. In some cases, act as the Chief Financial Officer for client funds. Technical Consulting
Identify, interpret, and communicate accounting and industry rules and regulations. Recognize trends in investment management and adjust operational services accordingly. Departmental Leadership
Create and promote departmental vision, goals, and objectives. Participate in senior management meetings and initiatives. Foster integration across SEI lines of business. Lead staff development, including performance appraisals, training, and staffing. Lead departmental projects and process improvements. Fund Administration Oversight
Review fund financial statements, documents, and regulatory filings. Work with Tax and Legal Departments on specific issues. Lead efforts to improve operational efficiency. Operational Oversight
Ensure high client service standards. Monitor service and quality indicators. Oversee staff resources and third-party vendor performance. Sales Support
Coordinate responses to RFPs and RFIs related to fund accounting. Qualifications:
BA/BS in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience. Minimum 10 years in operations management or 6 years in a public accounting firm within financial services. CPA preferred. Extensive experience with mutual funds and investment vehicles. Knowledge of security trading practices and relevant regulations. Experience reviewing fund financials and understanding US GAAP for investment companies. Proven leadership in managing operational teams. Desired qualities:
