AvtechTyee is searching for an
Assistant Controller
with supervisory experience and a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude to help position our company for new growth and improved social responsibility. Project Management skills would be a real plus! Working on site at the facility is required.

Under the direction of the VP of Finance, the Assistant Controller is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the organization's fiscal records and preparation of its financial reports. Assist in directing general and/or property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, budgetary controls, and taxes and/or payroll functions of the company. May consolidate all operating budgets for reports, check expenditure requests against approved budgets for adequate funding, and exercise accounting control. Research special assignments through appropriate sources and apprise Executive of matters dealing with the assignment.
In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For
Managing the monthly close process. Coordinating preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements. Assisting in annual plan and budget development. Overseeing all audits. Preparing accounting policy and procedure manuals. Supervising employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budgeting duties. Aiding VP of Finance in financial activities of organization or subdivision of organization. Developing reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present, and expected operations. Actively driving continuous improvement; developing and executing ideas for enhanced efficiency, productivity, and cost savings. Development of a superior workforce: Work with HR to recruit, interview, select, hire and employ an appropriate number of employees; Coach, mentor, and develop staff; Provide effective performance feedback through recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action when necessary. Demonstrating ongoing self-development and personal growth as an employee. Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, Masters or CPA preferred 4+ years' experience in accounting or finance Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role Standard cost or cost accounting experience preferred Experience with ERP migration a plus Infor LN experience a plus 2+ years' manufacturing experience highly preferred, aerospace a plus Knowledge and experience in business, supervision, and management Better than average written and spoken communication skills Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department and department staff members Proficient with the full Microsoft suite Experience with Concur and FloQast are a nice-to-have Strong focus and attention to detail Time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task in a complex business environment Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills Strong focus on customer service Ability to quickly master new business knowledge and technical skills in a dynamic and rapidly changing business environment

CPA preferred Must be authorized to work in the U.S. This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization**
The target wage/salary range for this role may be within $137k - $160k plus annual bonus, depending on education and experience. We may look at a broader range for the right candidate.
