We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical Engineer to join our Data Center Engineering team. As a Data Center Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading projects focused on data collection of system IEDs, logic controls, and presenting data for data center customers to monitor and control their power systems. Utilizing real-time logic controllers and communication equipment, the SEL ES Automation engineer owns planning, design, development, testing, and commissioning of projects. Projects often include: Communication network equipment Configuration of real-time controllers as RTUs Human Machine Interface (HMI) or server to an upstream SCADA client Configuration of real-time controllers for custom logic such as fault location, isolation, and restoration Configuration of workstations for power system analytic software Location:
Open to multiple US Locations Experience Level:
Minimum of 5+ years in power system automation systems Key Responsibilities:
Serve as technical lead in design, execution, development, and support activities across multiple projects Lead and manage projects, ensuring customer satisfaction and high-quality deliverables Ensure project scope, schedule, and budget adherence with safety and quality standards Research and implement SEL and third-party equipment solutions Explore OT network solutions and emerging technologies Create high-quality project deliverables including device settings, design specifications, configurations, testing procedures, and safety protocols Identify and present proposals for SEL equipment and services Participate in business development by presenting solutions to clients Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess system requirements and protection strategies Willing to travel at least 25% of the time Required Skills & Qualifications:
B.S. degree in electrical engineering or relevant discipline Knowledge of power system protection principles, relay protection, control, and automation schemes Experience designing control logic and network configurations Ability to interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and BOMs Experience with communication protocols (IEC-61850, DNP3, Modbus, C37.118, etc.) Experience with SCADA applications and HMI design using Ignition, Zenon, etc. Why Join Us?
