Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Corporate Accounting Manager / Accounting Systems Analyst located in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. The role involves managing and analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. We are looking for a forward-thinking
Corporate Accountant/Accounting Systems Analyst
with experience or interest in spearheading AI-driven automation to support and enhance our financial systems. This hybrid role combines general corporate accounting duties with financial accounting expertise, and systems analysis, to streamline accounting operations, improve data accuracy, and support the digital evolution of our broadcasting business. Key Responsibilities: Manage and optimize accounting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics GP) and financial reporting platforms (Bi360). Manage accounting system conversions as needed from Microsoft GP to Microsoft Business Central. Work closely with finance, IT, and broadcast operations teams to identify and provide improvements in inefficiencies in accounting workflows, particularly around manual processing. Implement AI and machine learning tools to automate processes such as invoice processing and budget forecasting. Develop and maintain dashboards and analytics for real-time financial reporting, leveraging tools such as Bi360 or Power BI. Support the integration of financial data with traffic and scheduling systems (e.g., Marketron). Collaborate with auditors and compliance teams to maintain internal controls and audit trails. Train finance and broadcast admin teams on new system features and AI-enhanced workflows. Maintain and oversee the corporate accounting month-end, quarter, and year end close process, including: Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including general ledger, cash and accounts payable processing and transaction reporting. Prepare monthly journal entries for corporate prepaid, accruals, and intercompany transactions. Prepare accounting reconciliations for corporate prepaid and accrual accounts. Review bank reconciliations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring that all transactions are documented and compliant with accounting standards. Prepare special reports and analyses as requested by management to assist in strategic decision making. Prepare corporate budget and oversee market / divisions budget process. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS, or a related field. Accounting skills including financial reporting, budget preparation, and compliance. 3–5 years of experience in accounting systems and process improvement. Hands-on experience with accounting software, ERP, or broadcast-specific financial software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, GP, Marketron, Bi360 or similar software). Working knowledge or desire to understand and work with AI/ML tools and platforms (e.g., Python, Alteryx, Azure AI, or OpenAI APIs). Analytical skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, including advanced functions. Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team. Experience in the media, broadcasting, or digital advertising industries are a plus but not required. Seniority level
