Senior Electrical & I&C Design Engineer
to support its Nuclear Services Division. This division provides high-quality engineering, design, and project execution for both operating and new reactor clients. The firm's cross-functional capabilities also integrate nuclear design with high-voltage electrical systems, including substations, switchyards, transmission lines, and distribution. Lead proposal development and guide engineering teams for Electrical, Controls, and Digital systems within nuclear projects. Support multi-discipline projects as a technical expert and serve as Project Engineer for discipline-specific scopes when needed. Act as the technical point of contact for customers, leading engineering teams and ensuring high-quality deliverables. Prepare design change packages for nuclear plant modifications, including scoping, estimating, and field walkdowns. Develop engineering change packages (ECs) in compliance with client and industry standards. Perform Digital I&C design including system requirements, control logic, HMI interfaces, and network architecture. Support cyber security evaluations and component classification in accordance with 10CFR73.54 and NEI 08-09. Collaborate with internal teams and client Cyber Security Assessment Teams to ensure critical digital assets are properly assessed and documented. Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Controls Engineering (required) Master's degree in Engineering (preferred) Professional Engineer (PE) license (highly preferred) or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire Minimum of 8 years' experience in engineering design, including 4+ years of nuclear plant modification design (DOE or commercial) Familiarity with multiple operating nuclear clients and vendors (highly preferred) Experience with IP-ENG-001 and NISP-EN-04 industry design standards (required) Prior unescorted access at a nuclear facility (preferred) or ability to obtain it (required) Experience in machine design (preferred) Successful Candidates Will Demonstrate:
Proven design engineering experience in commercial nuclear facilities, particularly in digital upgrades and cyber security reviews Strong knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and industry practices Understanding of cybersecurity concerns within plant networks, OS, platforms, and control systems Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in high-stakes environments Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including technical writing Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization and interface directly with clients This role offers the chance to contribute to cutting-edge nuclear design projects while enjoying the support of a dynamic and inclusive engineering team.
