Qualifications Required Qualifications: Strong foundation in mechanical engineering fundamentals, including design principles, machine elements, materials, and fabrication methods. Proven experience with CAD software, preferably Autodesk Inventor. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in surface finish analysis, as well as structural and thermal analysis. Hands-on experience with lab testing, optical measurement devices, automated data acquisition, and data analysis. Ability to collaborate with suppliers to resolve component, yield, and part-related issues promptly, and to support purchasing teams in driving supplier quality improvements and cost reduction efforts. Perform First Article qualifications for end-of-life (EOL) parts and obsolete components. Participate in the full design/build cycle, including design, 3D CAD modeling, design review presentations, 2D drawing generation, procurement of prototype parts, system integration, and prototype testing. Experience in the following areas is desirable but not required: Precision mechanics, mechanisms, optomechanical systems, optical alignment, design of semiconductor equipment or similar instruments, machine tools, motion controls, data acquisition, and measurement instrumentation. Skilled in: Troubleshooting, maintenance, and support for system-level challenges in a production environment. Conducting failure analysis reports and investigations. Creating Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), structuring Bills of Materials (BOMs), and generating test and assembly documentation as needed. Additional Requirement: Willingness to travel up to 20% to support customers worldwide.
