Structural Engineer Job Description:
PrideStaff is working with a local Engineering company who is in search of a Structural Engineer to join their team. The Structural Engineer will design, analyze, and detail cold-formed steel structures in accordance with California Building Codes (CBC), AISI, and ASCE Standards. The ideal Structural Engineer demonstrates multiple years of experience in a similar role, has a valid California PE license, and has led in the design and analysis of light gauge steel framing systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings. The Structural Engineer position is a full time, direct hire position near Martinez, CA.
Structural Engineer Duties & Responsibilities:
Design, Analyze, & Detail Cold-Formed Steel Structures in Accordance With California Building Codes (CBC), AISI, & ASCE Standards
Prepare Structural Calculations, Drawings, & Specifications For Submittals & Permitting
Stamp & Sign Structural Documents as Engineer of Record For Projects Within California
Perform Structural Modeling Using Tools Such as RISA, CFS, SAP2000, Revit, Telka Structures, & or AutoCAD
Coordinate With Architects, MEP Engineers, & Contractors Throughout The Project Lifecycles
Stay Current on Industry Codes, Materials, & Best Practices to Light Gauge Steel Systems
Review Shop Drawings, Respond to RFI’s & Provide Construction Administration Support
Mentor Junior Engineers & Drafters, Providing Quality Control & Technical Guidance
Follow All PPE & Safety Protocols
Structural Engineer Requirements & Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Required
Active California PE License Required
5+ Years of Structural Engineering Experience With a Focus on Light Gauge Steel Systems
Proficiency in Relevant Structural Analysis Software (RISA, CFS, ETABS, STAAD, AutoCAD)
Strong Knowledge of Cold-Formed Steel Design, Lateral Systems, & Seismic Considerations
Excellent Written & Verbal Communication Skills
Ability to Manage Multiple Projects & Deadlines Simultaneously
Familiar With DSA or OSHPD Project Requirements as Applicable
SE license in Structural Engineering For California
Experience With Design-Build Delivery or Coordination With
Panelized/Prefabricated
Systems
