Solutions Architect / Technical Estimator

What You'll Do: Engineer Solutions & Drive Proposals As a Solutions Architect / Technical Estimator, you'll be the crucial engineering liaison, working across multiple teams to develop winning proposals for complex projects. Solution Crafting:
Craft unique, vertically integrated manufacturing solutions and accurate, detailed costing proposals that exceed customer expectations. Technical Estimation:
Analyze blueprints, CAD models, and specifications to prepare precise cost estimates for projects involving
insert injection molding of thermoplastics, precision machined components, and/or complex sub-assemblies
for the medical device industry. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with Business Development, Engineering Innovation, Manufacturing Centers of Excellence, and Executive Leadership to generate "Single Source" proposals. DFM & Optimization:
Perform Design for Manufacture (DFM) to ensure optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness, identifying the best manufacturing processes and equipment. Technical Lead:
Participate as a technical expert in educating and selling proposed solutions to customers, preparing quotations, technical presentations, and cost models. What You'll Bring: Your Expertise & Vision Our client is seeking an experienced engineer with a strong background in medical device manufacturing. Bachelor's degree in Engineering
(Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field). Minimum 5 years of experience
in cost estimation or a related manufacturing role, specifically with
medical device insert injection molding, precision machining, and/or complex finished device assemblies. Strong engineering background with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment. Proficiency in
SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM software
for estimating and DFM. Experience collaborating across multi-plant, vertically integrated proposals. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Knowledge of MedTech industry regulatory/quality requirements (ISO13485, FDA, CFR820 Part 11, GxP, MedAccred). Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Anticipated travel is
10-15%
for sales support, trade shows, and vendor visits.
