Basic Purpose
The National Accounts team is responsible for covering our US intermediary firms & home office relationships. Within the National Accounts team, our portfolio strategy consultants work directly with due diligence and research analysts in home offices. The primary responsibilities of the portfolio strategy consultants are: 1) Growing & maintaining shelf space, 2) Developing relationships with analysts in research 3) Understanding the competitive landscape 4) Working in partnership with the investment teams to provide insight to home office clients. The preferred location of the role is NY or Boston with the ability to travel as needed for client engagement.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop meaningful professional relationships with key home office contacts within Alternatives to increase MSIM Alternatives visibility, brand awareness and platform placement. Work in close partnership with the national accounts team to maximize opportunities within Alternatives platforms Work with ICapital, +Subscribe, CAIS in partnership with Alternatives Product Team and Strategic Accounts. Build in-depth understanding of the full suite of MSIM Alternative capabilities and align firm resources at covered firms to maximize business opportunity. Collaborate and communicate at a high level with other areas of the organization surrounding the Alternatives business: relationship management, product, investment teams, sales leadership Become a trusted partner to key clients and work with Eaton Vance Strategic Accounts relationship managers to deliver a unified best-in-class client and advisor experience. Create and maintain active SWOT documentation for each key client and establish routines to support each relationship. Collaborate with Retirement and Sub-Advised Channels on opportunities and potential partnerships with insurance companies/ 401K providers/etc. Become a trusted partner internally with operations, to drive third party access to Alternative offerings Regular travel expected for key client support and prospecting activities. Research meetings, conferences, product launches, etc.
Job Requirements
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the investment management industry in similar and/or related roles. Background of 3 years in Alternatives with high understanding of the Alternatives business, competitive landscape, product construct. Self-motivated individual that can work independently or as part of larger team. Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Travel as required by client and/or firm business needs. Ability to accommodate a hybrid office schedule when not traveling for business. Bachelor’s degree (MBA, CAIA, CFA, CIMA, CFA a plus) FINRA Series 7, 65/66, 63 licenses required.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
