We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (P.E.) with strong project management skills and a passion for mentorship and client interaction. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who wants to lead healthcare and education projects from concept through construction.
You’ll be the go-to resource for HVAC design, team leadership, and client delivery—making an impact on meaningful, complex buildings that serve communities.
What You’ll Do
Lead HVAC design and project management for healthcare facilities, hospitals, labs, and K–12/higher ed buildings
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors—building long-term relationships
Mentor junior mechanical engineers, providing technical guidance and career development support
Oversee system selection, load calculations, duct/piping layout, equipment schedules, and specifications
Ensure code compliance with ASHRAE, FGI Guidelines, and applicable building codes
Review submittals, RFIs, and conduct field/site visits for design verification and construction observation
Coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders, across all MEP disciplines
What You Bring Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
8+ years of HVAC design experience in consulting, with a portfolio of healthcare and/or education work
Proven ability to lead design teams and manage full project lifecycle
Strong mentorship skills with a track record of growing junior talent
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, or similar tools
Strong communication and organization skills to manage both design and client expectations
Deep understanding of healthcare design guidelines and mechanical system best practices
Bonus Points For LEED accreditation or knowledge of sustainable design practices
Experience with OSHPD, AHCA, or other healthcare regulatory requirements
Familiarity with BIM coordination processes and clash detection
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: Typically ranges from $120K–$130K+, depending on experience
