Head of Technology Strategy – Tech-Driven Thematic Investing A leading global macro research firm is building a new strategy product at the intersection of
technology, economics, geopolitics, and markets . The goal: to help institutional investors make sense of disruptive innovation — and position for it in portfolios. We’re looking for a rare combination: someone fluent in
emerging technologies and structural change , but who can also ground their thinking in
macro, policy, and investment strategy . This is not deep-dive equity research — it’s about understanding how big themes translate into
real-world positioning , from asset allocation down to
ETFs, sector tilts, baskets, or high-conviction single names . What You’ll Do: Launch and lead a high-impact product focused on the investment implications of innovation (AI, biotech, cybersecurity, crypto, etc.) Analyze how technological change interacts with
economic forces, policy, and geopolitical shifts Deliver
actionable, forward-looking investment ideas
that speak to CIOs, PMs, and asset allocators Express views through
concrete trade ideas : sector views, thematic baskets, quant screens, and occasionally individual stocks Serve as a thought leader across written research, client dialogue, and (where relevant) media or public speaking Take commercial responsibility for the franchise, looking to build a product from the ground up that drives revenue from both new and existing clients. Output: Regular publications Meetings/calls with clients Strong brand on social media (X/LinkedIn/podcast) Appearances in the media & conferences What We’re Looking For: Strong grasp of emerging technologies and their macro, sector, and geopolitical implications Experience in
macro research, thematic investing, or cross-asset strategy Comfort framing views with
investment expressions
in mind — not just stories, but signals Excellent writing and communication skills; ability to be both provocative and clear Strategic mindset, strong opinions, and an ability to challenge consensus thinking Backgrounds Might Include: Tech or thematic strategists (buy- or sell-side) Analysts at top IRPs, think tanks, or innovation consultancies with market-facing experience Tech-savvy journalists, writers or commentators with clear investment orientation Location:
