Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
Fifteen years of job-related experience.
Ability to manage and supervise project engineers and contract engineering firms to execute the Refinery Capital Budget and provide technical support services efficiently.
Proven ability to manage major and multiple small projects.
Skill in recognizing and addressing skill deficiencies in developing engineers and establishing training programs.
Solid technical skills and refinery experience.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and practices.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC).
Job Description Job Summary
The Manager of Project Engineering oversees the Refinery Capital Budget, reviews project design engineering, manages technical services, cost estimating, safety, scope, quality, and schedules for all engineering projects within the department. This role is accountable for project management and technical review for Project Engineers in Central Project Engineering, managing all contract engineers and the drafting department. The position includes some project management responsibilities for larger, complex projects, and provides technical support for safe refinery operations during steady-state and upset conditions. The role is based onsite in Downers Grove, Illinois, with an expected salary range of $215,000 – $240,000. The application deadline is May 16, 2025.
