To apply : Apply here Reporting to the Director of the WVU Cancer Institute (WVUCI), the Associate Director, Administration is a key member of WVUCIs executive leadership team. This position supports an innovative, collaborative, and productive research environment and advances WVUCIs goal of achieving NCI designation. The Associate Director will oversee strategic planning, research administration, shared resources, CCSG preparation, financial and budgetary leadership, and informatics support across clinical trials and research activities. The role collaborates with Associate Directors and stakeholders in Clinical Research, Population Sciences, CRTEC, Shared Resources, and Community Outreach & Engagement to align operations with WVUCIs strategic priorities. The position manages the WVUCI Membership Program and maintains key data systems related to member productivity. It also serves as the administrative point of contact for HR, facilities, finance, and marketing, and plays a leading role in developing infrastructure necessary for CCSG submission and NCI designation. Key responsibilities include: Leading all CCSG administrative processes and internal systems. Overseeing research financials, including budgeting, planning, and philanthropic funds. Supporting external advisory meetings and institutional reporting needs. Managing shared informatics and research tracking systems. Representing WVUCI with internal and external stakeholders at the highest levels. Required qualifications: Masters degree in business or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of administrative/management experience in an academic or research setting, including at least 5 years of direct supervisory experience. Strong strategic leadership, financial, and operational skills. Knowledge of CCSG and NCI cancer center infrastructure is preferred.
