Sun Chemical is seeking a Lead Product Development Specialist to develop innovative screen products for industrial, point of purchase, and high-tech markets. The ideal candidate will create both solvent-based and energy-curable screen inks that meet the demands of defined screen applications. This role requires handling multiple parallel projects with variable timelines while following a stage gate process from ideation to successful commercial launch. Core Responsibilities
Lead screen projects and execute technical work assignments in a timely manner. Develop formulations with consideration for economics and EHS implications. Identify and understand intellectual property related to developed technologies. Demonstrate expertise in screen formulation through coaching, technical reports, presentations, and publications. Generate new ideas for growth, profitability, and productivity. Collaborate effectively with global technical, marketing, and sales partners. Apply problem-solving skills to address complex challenges and anticipate market trends. Perform hands-on laboratory work related to screen formulation. Work across global development and application laboratories and at customer facilities. Drive projects to completion with visible reporting and documentation. Support SAP formula and recipe entry requirements. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry required. Master's preferred. Prefer 15 years of directly relevant experience in screen solvent and energy curable product formulation. Applied and theoretical knowledge of screen inks, including materials, formulations, and testing. Experience with screen printing applications. Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver results on schedule. Understanding of chemistry and structure/property relationships in screen ink development. Experience with Six Sigma or Quality tools. Excellent oral and written presentation skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Innovation capability with understanding of patent filing and literature searches. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with SAP Bill of Material Entry and related SAP Recipe and material entry. Travel Requirements: 0-15%
