Vinyl Kraft, a leader in vinyl windows and doors manufacturing, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the plant operations in New Boston, Ohio. The role involves managing a team of managers across multiple departments, ensuring efficient and high-quality production processes, and aligning operational strategies with company goals. This key leadership position reports directly to the President and is responsible for managing multiple departments while ensuring our mission of providing "Undeniable value in quality vinyl windows and doors" is executed daily. Key Responsibilities ·Plant Operations Management: a.Oversee all daily operations of the manufacturing facility, including production scheduling, maintenance, and material flow. b.Develop and execute strategic plans to improve productivity, efficiency, and capacity in alignment with company growth goals. c.Manage resources effectively to meet production schedules and customer lead time expectations. d.Collaborate with senior leadership in production planning meetings to manage demand and forecast operational needs. a.Lead, mentor, and manage a team of department supervisors and, by extension, all hourly production employees. b.Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement, rooted in our core values of Dependability and Respect. c.Establish performance goals, conduct reviews, and guide the professional development of the production leadership team. d.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement. ·Quality Control: a.Champion our commitment to quality by enforcing and improving our specific QC systems at every stage of the manufacturing process. b.Ensure all finished products meet our stringent quality standards and the expectations of our Lifetime Warranty. c.Analyze quality data to identify trends and implement corrective actions. ·Safety & Compliance: a.Maintain and enforce a culture of safety throughout the plant, ensuring compliance with all OSHA and internal safety regulations. b.Conduct regular safety audits, lead incident investigations, and implement preventative measures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. c.Ensure all employees are properly trained on safety protocols and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). ·Achieving Production Targets: a.Set and manage production goals to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to output, quality, cost, and on-time delivery. b.Monitor operational performance and drive swift, effective action to address any deviations from performance targets. Required Qualifications ·Bachelor's degree in business administration, Operations Management, or related field; Master's preferred. ·Minimum 7-10 years of manufacturing management experience, preferably in Fenestration or similar industry. ·Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale (100+ Employee) operations. ·Strong analytical skills and experience with production metrics. ·Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. ·Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements ·The physical demands of this role are representative of a hands-on leadership position within a manufacturing environment. ·Ability to frequently stand and walk on concrete surfaces for extended periods. ·Must be able to navigate the production floor, which includes exposure to moderate to high noise levels, dust, and variable temperatures. ·Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally. ·Requires the ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and climb stairs. ·Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and hearing protection, for extended periods. ·This is a full-time, salaried exempt position requiring a minimum 50-hour work week to ensure adequate oversight of plant operations. ·Flexibility is essential. The Operations Manager must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet critical production deadlines or resolve urgent operational issues. Preferred Skills ·Leadership: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse manufacturing team. Embodies a leadership style that is direct, fair, and respectful. ·Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making. ·Lean Manufacturing: Deep understanding and practical application of lean manufacturing principles to drive efficiency and eliminate waste. ·Technical Proficiency: High proficiency with ERP systems (Fenevision experience is a significant asset) and production scheduling software. ·Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, from hourly employees to the President.
