Program Manager
General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is hiring a full-time, on-site Program Manager for its Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Contract at the FAA’s William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in Atlantic City, NJ. The UAS Contract involves drone flights and testing for airport surface safety and pavement life. The Program Manager will oversee all contract activities, including task orders related to UAS Detection & Mitigation, Airport Applications, and Airport Operations. The role requires leadership, communication, and coordination skills to manage relationships between GDIT, the FAA, subcontractors, and vendors. The position demands strong program and project management experience, excellent communication skills, leadership, and the ability to manage technical efforts.
Essential Job Duties:
Manage personnel in a highly technical environment
Develop relationships with customers at multiple levels
Implement tailored project management processes
Guide technical teams in developing work plans and deliverables
Review and develop cost estimates for technical tasks
Manage financial aspects of multiple task orders
Build relationships with customers, subcontractors, and vendors
Create a responsible and accountable work environment that promotes learning and positive energy
Knowledge Requirements:
At least 15 years of full-time program management experience
Preferred: aviation-related R&D experience
Proficiency in government contract and design standards
Proficiency in planning tools (WBS, Gantt charts, PERT, etc.)
Experience in budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting
Excellent communication and writing skills
Experience supporting UAS Detection, Mitigation, or Airport Applications
FAA support or WJHTC experience is a plus
Education Requirements:
Minimum: 4-year engineering or management degree from an accredited college
PMP certification preferred
