Role Summary We are seeking a

Deepwater Subsurface Manager

to lead a multi-well exploration and appraisal drilling campaign in 2026, followed by immediate development. The role requires strong leadership to manage multidisciplinary teams and collaborate across departments to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. This is a multi-year engagement based in Gurgaon, India.

Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for subsurface activities related to exploration, appraisal, and development of deepwater assets.

Lead subsurface elements of the 2026 exploration campaign to maximize success and resource characterization.

Pre-plan alternative scenarios for exploration prospects to enable FID without further appraisal post-2026 drilling.

Oversee reservoir modeling, simulation, and integration of geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data.

Coordinate development plans including well placement, drilling schedules, and resource forecasts.

Lead a team of geoscientists and engineers, engaging third-party consultants as needed.

Provide regular updates to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.

Minimum Qualifications

At least 15 years of oil and gas experience, with over 10 years in deepwater field appraisal and development.

Experience across various deepwater depositional environments, including gas and liquid-rich gas, in multiple countries.

Reservoir engineer or geoscientist background, with relevant degrees and certifications.

Proven leadership in managing subsurface teams and large-scale projects.

Experience working with exploration and development of deepwater assets.

Excellent collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.

Additional Information This is a full-time, agency contractor position reporting to the VP of Project Management, with a focus on delivering results within schedule and budget. The role involves managing stakeholder communication and leading a diverse team in a dynamic environment.
