Herndon, VA . Your Role: The Data Intelligence team manages various infrastructure, services, and analytics outputs. We recently launched a

full-stack data lake house environment

to enable more teams to develop analytics solutions. Your main focus will be to learn our current solutions, assist in migrating them to the data lake house, and develop best practices for data pipelines while onboarding other departments to this environment. Flexibility and adaptability are crucial during this period of rapid change. What youll do day-to-day: Operate in a

cloud-based AWS environment . Communicate effectively with Maxar employees and external consultants. Gain exposure to a leading repository of geospatial data. Design, develop, and support scalable, reliable cloud data solutions using open-source and COTS tools. Build high-quality, resilient data pipelines and business solutions. Analyze data from diverse systems for reporting. Identify infrastructure improvement opportunities and propose solutions. Collaborate with DevOps Engineers, Data Engineers, and Business Intelligence Developers. Minimum Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen with an active or current TS/SCI clearance. Bachelors degree in computer science, geography, or related field; four years of additional experience may substitute for a degree. At least 5 years of technical experience. At least 5 years experience with SQL, including complex queries, tuning, and CTEs. At least 3 years experience with Python. Experience building and orchestrating automated, production-level data pipelines (ETL/ELT). Experience with file-based data storage like Parquet or Iceberg. Experience with data catalogs (e.g., Hive, AWS Glue). Understanding of key AWS services (EC2, S3, EKS, IAM, Lambda). Experience with data APIs and GitHub. Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data. Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly. Preferred Qualifications: Software development experience. Experience with geospatial data and PostGIS. Building data-streaming processes. Familiarity with tools like Apache-Hive, Trino, Presto, Starburst, OpenMetadata, Apache-SuperSet, Terraform, dbt, Tableau, Fivetran, Airflow. Implementing resilient, scalable systems in AWS. Using open-source technologies and cloud services extensively. Developing multi-step ETLs with DAG creation in Airflow. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins. #LI-CJ1 We disclose salary ranges to promote pay transparency. The starting pay for this role in the Washington, DC area ranges from
