The Corporate Director of Accounting is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations for Performance Hospitality’s portfolio of three managed and four owned hotels, as well as joint ventures and partnerships within Insite Development Group. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and robust internal controls across the organization. The Director provides leadership to the accounting team, supporting timely reporting, audit readiness, and policy enforcement. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting functions to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and applicable accounting standards. Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and USALI standards. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records. Coordinate and manage external audits and internal reviews, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor requests. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, coordinating with external advisors as necessary. Develop and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and systems to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Monitor the month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis. Provide oversight for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger functions. Collaborate with finance, operations, and executive teams to support budget adherence and financial decision-making. Maintain accurate records for joint venture and partnership entities, including proper treatment of capital contributions, distributions, and allocations. Ensure proper application of waterfall distribution models and joint venture accounting principles. Deliver internal financial reports and dashboards to senior leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and compliance issues. Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing forecasting to anticipate financial performance. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. CPA strongly preferred. A master’s degree or MBA is a plus. Experience: 8–15 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Real estate industry experience, especially involving joint ventures, is highly desirable. Hotel experience is a plus. Accounting Expertise: Deep understanding of GAAP, USALI, and joint venture accounting, including waterfall distributions and partnership reporting. Internal Controls & Compliance: Proven ability to implement and monitor robust internal controls and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Leadership: Strong team leadership and staff development skills, with the ability to foster accountability and performance in a distributed team. Audit & Reporting: Experience managing audits and preparing accurate, audit-ready financial statements. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and reconciliations. Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar), and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex accounting topics to non-financial stakeholders. Seniority level
