We're looking for a
Sr. Instrumentation and Controls Engineer
who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects including state of the art industrial and commercial facilities.
This is an on-site position in
Manassas, VA

In this role, you’ll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You’ll also provide on-site assistance during startup, coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead. Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team will produce designs for electrical circuits and panels utilizing control applications, designs for control systems for a variety of processes, and develop options and optimizations for all aspects of the process control, instrumentation, and automation. You’ll also have the chance to utilize your technical expertise to mentor other professionals, as a passionate leader, you’ll leverage your people management skills to help your team members discover what drives them, nurturing their purpose and guiding them forward.

Here's what you'll need
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university At least 15 years of experience working with Instrumentation and Control Current Professional Engineer (PE) license with ability to obtain licensure in state of Virginia Advanced knowledge of PLC, DCS, and other controls applications Advanced facilities related design experience generating Instrumentation and Controls design-related deliverables such as P&IDs, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, control narratives, etc. Well versed in documentation methods and writing procedures for sequence of operations, datasheets, specifications, etc. Ability to develop and conduct Site Acceptance Test procedures. Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel
Ideally, you’ll also have
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM software Experience related to semiconductor or other high-tech facilities Strong communication skills both verbal and written Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams Passion for buildings and construction

Location
This is an on-site position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Manassas, VA. Candidate must be willing to commute to the site Monday-Friday during normal business hours – normally 800 am to 500 pm with some flexibility based on ability of site to support and employee preference. Relocation assistance may be provided for qualified candidate.
Physical Requirements
Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25 lbs
Authorized to Work
Applicant must complete background check, drug screen and full fully authorized to work for any client in the United States. Jacobs will not sponsor or continue a visa for this position

The base salary range for this position is $138,000.00 to $216,325.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
