Principal Engineer, Oracle SCM (functional)

What you will do – Essential Responsibilities Lead the implementation of our new Cloud-based Supply Chain Management solution, managing business requirements, and leading the functional design, prototyping, and process design stages of our Cloud ERP implementation, partnering with our Systems Integrator (SI), other technology teams, and internal SMEs. Collaborate with CarMax associates to understand real-life process and data challenges in our Supply Chain, discovering needs to create a seamless customer experience and an efficient associate experience. Work with product design, product management, systems architecture, and operational teams to develop solutions and bring ideas to life. Market and evolve your innovative ideas internally, incorporating feedback within an agile environment. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance our processes and customer/associate experience. Purpose of the role This role involves developing ground-breaking products through collaborative and creative work within a close-knit delivery team. You will be involved in the full development cycle: consulting users, conducting experiments, solving complex business problems, and implementing solutions. Balancing customer needs with business goals, you will deliver technical solutions that add business value. As a Principal Functional Analyst, you will play a hands-on role in configuring and designing solutions for our Supply Chain Management system, working closely with business SMEs, product teams, store associates, and our Systems Integrator. Your expertise will shape how we manage vehicle repair operations, parts, labor, sublet, and planning. Qualifications and Requirements Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Decision Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience, with 7+ years of relevant work experience, or Master’s Degree in the same fields, or equivalent experience, with 5+ years of relevant work experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Leadership experience in major initiatives with a Systems Integrator Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Strong communication and presentation skills Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with mature judgment Software Specific Qualifications and Requirements Experience in: Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Information Systems, with 7+ years as a functional analyst or systems consultant, including 3+ years in Core Oracle SCM Cloud (Fusion), with hands-on configuration and solution design Leading Oracle SCM Cloud implementations, including module configuration, system setup, and documentation Functional experience in Manufacturing, Procurement, Maintenance, Quality Management, or Supply Planning Functional testing, issue resolution, data validation, data conversion, and UAT support Collaborating with stakeholders and designing Oracle-based operational solutions Developing, testing, and validating configurations related to business process improvements Providing functional specifications for development/configuration and validating releases Leading workshops from scoping to realization phases Preferred experience includes: Supply chain and manufacturing processes, vehicle reconditioning, parts procurement, vendor sublet management, and internal costing Oracle tools and technologies such as OTBI, BI Publisher, Oracle APEX, Visual Builder, Web services, REST APIs Oracle Cloud SCM certifications, especially in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Procurement, or Supply Planning AI solutions relevant to supply chain or productivity Mentoring team members Microsoft SQL Server scripting and data modeling API design (REST & SOAP) Work Location and Arrangement:
