(GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. We have an exciting opportunity to lead GA-ASI’s Structural Test team, responsible for testing the newest airframes and related structures. This position typically reports to a technical manager and is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing the technical performance of an engineering unit. It involves managing all phases of engineering projects from inception to completion, and collaborating with technical staff, program managers, and executive management to develop and implement technical, schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives. Duties and Responsibilities

Lead activities for engineering projects, including planning and managing technical performance to meet quality, business, and financial goals. Review engineering designs, plans, analyses, and other technical work for accuracy and conformance to requirements. Support the Structural Test team with test planning, fixture design, execution, and reporting for aircraft and components. Troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements, coordination issues, and material requirements. Provide direction to design or technical staff, leading a team of experienced professionals. Ensure technical excellence through participation in planning, recruitment, retention, and development of team members. Lead progress review sessions to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Identify engineering issues and develop solutions, including resource re-allocation or modifying specifications. Participate in developing new business opportunities and expanding existing ones. Manage the development and security of proprietary technology, maintaining confidentiality. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Maintain safety standards and adherence to operating procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in engineering or a related field, with nine or more years of progressive engineering experience, or equivalent experience. Knowledge of engineering principles, project management, and leadership skills. Ability to resolve management and technical problems. Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Customer-focused, able to work independently and in teams, with willingness to travel. Professional Engineering License and published works are desirable. Salary range: $100,290 - $183,098. Additional Details
