Senior Structural Design Engineer Location:

Pay: $57.88/hour Job Description:
The Structural Senior Designer provides essential design support on complex EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects in a multi-discipline environment. This role is responsible for preparing, checking, and coordinating structural design deliverables using advanced modeling and drafting tools under the supervision of a Discipline Lead or Design Supervisor. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review intermediate-complexity structural designs using
3D modeling
and
2D CADD
tools under supervision.
Coordinate technical issues across engineering disciplines, project management, vendors, and clients.
Ensure work aligns with the
Project Quality Plan , approved scope, cost, and schedule.
Perform
bulk material take-offs , analysis, and tabulations for structural systems.
Support procurement processes, including review of vendor drawings and submittals.
Provide technical support for construction activities, including responding to
RFIs
and handling field revisions.
Perform other duties as assigned to support project goals.
Basic Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship required
Minimum
10 years of structural design experience
in industrial or federal EPC projects.
Working knowledge of relevant federal (including
DOE Orders ), state, and local codes and standards.
Proficient in coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders.
Solid knowledge of structural discipline codes and industry standards.
Experience delivering design services in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage design timelines effectively.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Experience using
3D modeling
and
2D CADD
tools in a collaborative, multi-discipline project environment.
Discipline-Specific Requirements:
Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with
Intergraph Smart 3D (S3D) .
Proficient in
Bentley MicroStation
for structural design drafting and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in a technical or engineering-related field.
Experience designing
nuclear facility systems, structures, and components
under
ASME NQA-1
standards.
Familiarity with material availability and cost analysis.
Field experience supporting construction and engineering modifications.
EPC project experience with one or more of the following sectors: U.S. Department of Energy
or other U.S. federal agencies
Nuclear facilities
operating under nuclear QA programs
Manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or biotech
industries
