Job Description A thriving engineering consulting firm is seeking a mechanical engineer to manage projects and lead internal teams. The ideal candidate should have experience with mechanical commercial design of HVAC and Plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

Run projects and lead internal teams.

Design mechanical commercial HVAC and plumbing systems.

Perform calculations, create specifications, and manage disciplines for commercial, healthcare, residential, and process projects.

Transition from hands-on technical engineering to discipline/project management, demonstrating leadership in project strategy, team coordination, and technical oversight.

Define problems, analyze data, and draw valid conclusions while providing mentorship to junior team members and overseeing project delivery.

Prepare clear technical reports, accurate business correspondence, and effectively present information to diverse stakeholders.

Stay current on industry developments and ensure compliance with project-specific requirements and conditions.

Essential Skills

5+ years of progressive experience in MEP engineering with a strong focus on system design for various projects.

Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, with registration in California or Oregon (or ability to obtain licensure in those states).

Proven project and technical leadership skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Expertise in mechanical and plumbing systems.

Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Working knowledge of Bluebeam.

Experience with load simulation software such as Trane, Carrier, or Energy Pro.

Experience ensuring compliance with California’s specific building codes and regulations.

Active participation in professional organizations such as ASHRAE.

Work Environment The position offers a potential hybrid work policy with 4 weeks of PTO, paid holidays, and an additional holiday week by year-end. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $125,000 - $170,000 per year.
