Company: INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA Position: Integrity Assurance Engineer Salary: $122,229 - $152,787, commensurate with experience Location: Pipeline Supply Organization, Alvin, Texas Organizational Context and Job Purpose The Olefins & Polymers USA division of INEOS USA LLC is among North America's largest producers of olefins and polyolefins. The Pipeline Supply Organization manages the Stratton Ridge salt dome storage, the Hobbs Fractionation Complex, and over 500 miles of pipelines in South Texas. The Hobbs Fractionation Complex separates Y-Grade NGLs and produces C2s, C3s, and C4+, playing a crucial role in the CBW supply portfolio. The Stratton Ridge storage stores feedstocks and products, integrating with pipeline systems for efficient transport and distribution. Role Overview The Integrity Assurance Engineer ensures the reliability, safety, and integrity of assets and infrastructure within the Pipeline Supply Organization. Responsibilities include developing and managing asset integrity programs, conducting inspections and risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with regulations, standards, and policies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in mechanical integrity, inspection techniques, and maintenance practices, aiming to minimize risks and optimize asset performance. The engineer reports to the PSO Integrity Manager. Responsibilities and Accountabilities 1. Ensure compliance with engineering standards and INEOS guidance Plan and oversee inspections of pressure vessels, piping, tanks, heat exchangers, and rotating equipment per applicable codes (e.g., API 510, 570, 653, ASME). Address sub-standard inspection results and ensure timely completion of inspection requirements. 2. Ownership of Process Safety Device program Define inspection timelines and ensure PSO meets them. Manage periodic testing and repairs of PSDs, including database management. Resolve conflicts between design criteria and field conditions. 3. Identify and address gaps in piping/fixed equipment inspection Develop inspection plans based on risk-based methodologies. Support corrosion mapping and analysis of corrosion mechanisms. Conduct risk assessments and investigate failures to develop corrective actions. 4. Support project development ensuring quality and compliance Engage early in design to select suitable equipment. Ensure proper installation and compliance with standards. Support outage planning to address integrity items. Skills & Knowledge Education & Experience Bachelor's in Engineering. At least 10 years in mechanical integrity in refining or petrochemical plants. Knowledge of API standards and CWI certification is required. Preferred Certifications P.E. or similar professional certifications. Additional relevant certifications (API, ASME, CMRP). Skills Experience in PSM-regulated environments. Asset integrity and reliability management. Proficiency with CMMS software. Knowledge of risk assessment and degradation. Behavioral Skills Technical, result-oriented, decisive, with good interpersonal skills. Self-directed, proactive in prioritization. Adaptable to change and managing multiple priorities.
