Mechanical Engineer

MKA International, Inc. We are seeking a highly motivated mid-to-senior level licensed Professional Engineer to join our team of multidisciplinary licensed engineers. The candidate should have knowledge of mechanical equipment and building/process systems, especially in forensic engineering related to residential, commercial, industrial facilities, marine, and inland structures. Experience in failure cause & origin analysis, technical report writing, and construction litigation is preferred. Mechanical systems include, but are not limited to, HVAC, boilers, industrial gas, plumbing, machinery & process equipment, fire protection systems, etc. Responsibilities and Duties: Conduct fieldwork to document as-built conditions and damage to mechanical systems caused by natural events (wind, water, fire, earthquakes) or human errors (design, construction, product defects). Use building codes, technical knowledge, and construction practices to determine repair scopes and analyze causes and origins. Review design drawings and documentation. Communicate with clients, code officials, and contractors; prepare detailed reports. Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely and within-budget completion. Develop and maintain client relationships. Willingness to travel on short notice as needed. Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. At least 10 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in design or related fields. Licensed Professional Engineer in Arizona; multiple state licensures a plus. Knowledge of national building and construction codes (ICC, etc.). Experience with HVAC, boilers, fire protection systems, and mechanical concepts. Field experience and strong communication skills. Litigation support experience, including expert testimony, is desirable. Compensation ranges from $100k to $170k.
