We support data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continual customer access to our services. We work on challenging problems, managing numerous variables impacting the supply chain, and seek talented individuals to join us. You will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and more. Your role involves collaborating across AWS to uphold safety, security, and capacity standards, while fostering an inclusive culture that encourages innovation and ownership. This position focuses on data center design, engineering, and operations, working with business teams, vendors, and cross-functional groups to select and optimize colocation facilities that meet business needs. You should have a strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural (MEPS) engineering. Responsibilities include assessing sites, reviewing vendor designs, troubleshooting, supporting operations, and leading upgrades and design improvements. You will also act as a resident engineer during new construction and support construction, commissioning, and turnover processes. A typical day involves interacting with various teams, prioritizing activities to support capacity and safety, and working on local and global projects. You should possess strong engineering judgment, attention to detail, project management skills, and a willingness to engage in fieldwork. Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline, or 6 years of industry/military experience in lieu of degree 3+ years of experience in data center or telecommunications design, engineering, or operations and maintenance of critical infrastructure Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in engineering 6+ years of data center design experience Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification Project management experience; PMP or PMI certification Amazon is an equal opportunity employer.
