The Role As the Managing Director, Marketing Performance, Technology, & Analytics, you will be key in shaping and executing strategies for marketing technology, data, and insights to enhance marketing performance, supporter engagement, and revenue. Reporting to the Head of Mass Market Fundraising & Engagement, you will lead cross-functional teams and external partners in financial planning, performance measurement, and analytics. You will develop the strategic roadmap for marketing data analytics, build and lead a team of analysts and technologists, and promote a culture of insight-driven decision-making. Collaboration with the Enterprise Data and Insights teams is essential for alignment and shared value. Location Hybrid – Washington DC, Fairfield, CT, or Lexington, KY What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties) Marketing Analytics & Insights Leadership (25%) Develop integrated analytics, supporter segmentation, and predictive models to optimize ROI Design dashboards and reporting tools for real-time campaign and supporter insights Translate data into strategic insights, partnering with data teams and campaign managers to embed analytics in planning and execution Implement advanced methodologies like attribution modeling, predictive analytics, and file health monitoring Strategic Leadership & Departmental Planning (20%) Set vision and strategy for marketing analytics and performance management Advise senior leadership on data strategy and growth initiatives Partner with Business Technology Solutions to shape the enterprise technology roadmap, including AI integration Align departmental plans with organizational data strategies and growth goals Financial Planning & Performance Management (20%) Develop business models, scenario planning tools, and investment frameworks Lead budgeting, reforecasting, and financial modeling with Finance and fundraising leads Ensure reporting standards and KPIs are met; develop dashboards and review processes External Partnerships & Data Infrastructure (20%) Manage relationships with analytics vendors and partners Lead benchmarking initiatives for innovation Collaborate on data governance, hygiene, and integration efforts Oversee data integration of propensity models and third-party data sources Team Leadership & Organizational Influence (15%) Design and develop a team of analytics and marketing technology professionals Foster a culture of data literacy and performance excellence Participate in senior management and board meetings as needed Lead staff development, coaching, and promote diversity and inclusion Required qualifications for the role Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 10+ years relevant experience Leadership in marketing analytics, strategic planning, or financial performance Proven success leading cross-functional teams and managing complex challenges Expertise in KPIs, attribution, predictive analytics, segmentation Strong business acumen and data strategy alignment Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel) Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences Proficiency in MS Office and professional English Preferred qualifications for the role Experience with CRM & Multi-Channel Marketing Platforms (e.g., Blackbaud, Salesforce) Knowledge of database structures, data integration, and data lakehouses Programming skills in SQL, Python, R, or similar Experience in nonprofit fundraising, marketing, or technology Compensation Salary ranges vary by location, with specific targets provided for different regions in the US, and adjusted for international candidates based on local scales.
