Job Goal
To facilitate communication among students who are deaf and hard of hearing, their hearing
peers, teachers and other personnel within the school setting. The educational interpreter will
provide interpreting services which are appropriate to the individual communication needs of
students who are deaf or hard of hearing in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program.
Qualifications
New Jersey Instructional Certification in the appropriate subject matter and level. Educational Sign Language Interpreter, including EIPA certificate demonstrating performance skill with a score of 3.0 or higher. Successful Criminal History Clearance. Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization.
Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status
Must be NJ resident within one year from date of hire
