Job Summary
As a
Midstream Planning Engineer at Coterra , you are responsible for supporting the evaluation and design of midstream pipelines and facilities to support the Exploration Department with new well developments. Additionally, you will develop solutions to enable optimal production rates through a balanced understanding for the need to support development and growth, while also maintaining optimal operating pressures for legacy wells. You will work very closely with Planning, Exploration, Production, and Operations teams. This position reports directly to the Midstream Engineering Manager and is located on site at our Houston, Texas headquarters.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Midstream Project Engineering team and other departments to ensure the timely connection of new wells connected to Midstream Assets in the Permian Basin. Maintain gathering system hydraulics to identify infrastructure needs, optimize new pipe design, eliminate bottlenecks, and maintain compressor and SWD utilization. Coordinate with other personnel, such as geoscientists, engineers, superintendents, foreman regarding midstream concerns Coordinate with reservoir, geological, and production teams to design full scale asset development plans Collaborate with Operations to understand pressure parameters and work with Midstream Project Engineering to develop projects supporting optimal field production. Develop and optimize infrastructure capital budgets and forecast for Midstream assets Collaborate with the Permian Business Unit to ensure optimal well schedules are implemented. Manage time to adhere to defined schedules and deadlines. Proactively communicate project information to all stakeholders. Other tasks as assigned
Skills And Experience
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to communicate effectively with all levels internally, as well as external customers Proficient with hydraulic modeling skills Working knowledge of gas gathering, gas compression and gas treating operations produced water gathering, recycling and disposal operations Experience working within databases (Spotfire, SQL, etc.) Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Aries) Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills required Must be able to work in a team environment and possess the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment
Education Requirements
Minimum: 4 Year/Bachelor’s degree; Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, civil, or petroleum engineering required
Years Of Experience
Years of Experience Range: Minimum of 5 years; Minimum of 3 years of engineering, construction, and project management experience
WORKING CONDITIONS AND DEMANDS
Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents in this position must be able to physically and legally operate company owned vehicles. Employees must be able to perform work which requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and climbing. Exposure to conditions such as extreme heat or cold is likely. Employee is required to physically visit areas where actual operations are occurring, such as drilling and completion’s locations or production sites. Personal protective equipment including, but not limited to head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing are required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
Travel Requirements
Percent of Travel Required: 10% - 15%; Travel will be required for mandatory meetings, training, and visits to field locations.
