FieldCore, within GE Vernova's Gas Power business, specializes in installing, maintaining, and upgrading power generation equipment to ensure reliable and affordable energy supply.
About the Role The Outage Manager will oversee the preparation, planning, execution, and closeout of complex outage events involving gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators. The role includes developing business strategies for field fulfillment excellence within FieldCore.
Key Responsibilities
Manage outage event preparation from start to finish, including scheduling, labor and tooling planning, customer meetings, mobilization, and event closeout.
Lead onsite execution during outages, ensuring fulfillment goals are met.
Track costs and productivity, manage risks, and oversee warranty issues.
Improve on-time delivery, outage costs, and productivity by updating tracking files and controlling man-hour costs.
Develop project quotations, conduct site condition checks, and perform safety and risk analyses to minimize costs.
Support customer operations during shutdowns, startups, and testing.
Ensure proper documentation of procedures, safety, quality, and outage reports.
Utilize web systems for labor, tooling, and vendor management planning.
Respond promptly to forced outages or emergencies, investigate issues, and restore operations efficiently.
Qualifications and Skills The ideal candidate will have experience in power generation, specifically with gas and steam turbines, generators, and auxiliary systems, along with outage planning and execution skills. Key skills include:
Strong project management and planning skills, with proficiency in Primavera or similar scheduling tools.
IT proficiency, especially with web applications and advanced Excel skills.
A university degree in a STEM field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience and achievements are highly valued.
