is looking for a motivated

Transportation Project Manager - Highways Roads

to support GHD’s established Highways, Roads, Bridges practice throughout California and the US West. We seek a proactive Transportation Project Manager with skills to elevate our practice in highways, interchanges, local roads, roundabouts, trails/active transportation, bridges, and other vital improvements. Through a broad network of clients, GHD is involved in projects funded by Federal, State, Regional, County, Municipal agencies, and private sectors. This is a unique opportunity to join a large, well-established organization that values teamwork, integrity, and respect. You will collaborate with our skilled multidisciplinary teams and clients to deliver projects efficiently and provide high-value consultancy services. This position is based out of

any of our California offices (San Diego, Irvine, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Concord, Santa Rosa, Roseville, San Francisco) or in Phoenix, AZ , with a networked connection across our offices in the West Region, focusing on California. Working with an energetic, high-performing team, this role involves: Project Governance: Clarify roles and ensure project compliance within organizational structures. Portfolio Management: Plan and manage project delivery using appropriate methodologies. Project Team Management: Lead project teams, define vision, and guide outcomes. Risk and Issue Management: Identify and address risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints. Benefit Realization: Evaluate and track business benefits post-implementation. Resource Management: Manage project budgets and resource deployment. Culture of Innovation: Foster innovation through stakeholder solutions and collaborative initiatives. Leadership and Direction: Communicate strategy, motivate teams, and align with organizational goals. Personal Capability Building: Develop skills, gain accreditation, and stay informed on industry best practices. Change Management: Manage projects within transformational change programs. Stakeholder Management: Develop engagement plans and build stakeholder relationships. Scope Definition: Lead activities to define and agree on project deliverables. Project Assurance: Conduct assurance reviews and address issues to ensure project success. Business Analysis: Interpret business needs and recommend solutions. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Experience 8+ years’ experience in transportation and municipal engineering, including planning & design; construction experience is a plus. Registered Civil Engineer in California or Arizona. Experience in transportation project management, especially highways and roads. Proficiency with project management software and tools. Ability to develop proposals and participate in interviews. Knowledge of Caltrans and AASHTO standards; experience with PS&E package development. Experience with local, state, and federally funded transportation projects, including Caltrans projects. Salary Range: $116,000 - $175,000 based on experience.
