Robbins-Gioia Robbins-Gioia (RG) is currently seeking a skilled and proactive Program Manager. This individual will lead our team that supports the U.S. Air Force’s Programmed Depot Maintenance Scheduling System (PDMSS).
The Program Manager is the main person responsible for the project's success. They will lead a team with different skills to keep the PDMSS software running safely and correctly. They should be a leader who works well in a fast-paced setting and can motivate their team to meet important deadlines. They will work directly with our Air Force partners, manage the team, schedules, and budget, and ensure compliance with all Federal cybersecurity, accessibility, and systems compliance requirements.
A Day In The Life
The Program Manager is the operational and strategic linchpin for PDMSS support. This leader will have a direct impact on mission assurance for critical sustainment systems supporting Air Force readiness, with responsibility for compliance, risk mitigation, and operational excellence. To help make our customer successful, the chosen candidate can expect to be involved with or responsible for leading and managing the delivery of administrative, program/project management, financial management and strategic planning efforts in support of an Air Force system program of record sustainment; development of new software delivering new capabilities; and providing site specific analyst support. Specific responsibilities will include:
Serve as the main contact for the Air Force to include managing expectations, sharing progress updates, and solving problems professionally. Ensure RG meets all contract requirements listed in the Performance Work Statement (PWS). This includes responding quickly to major system outages ("Severity 1 work stoppage" Deficiency Reports). Lead and manage a team with different skills, including developers, testers, writers, and analysts. Guide the team to keep the PDMSS software operational, secure, and compliant at all times. Manage the program’s budget, schedules, risks, and plans for a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) government contract. Protect the system by using the best cybersecurity practices including supporting all efforts to manage security weaknesses and maintaining the system’s Authority to Operate (ATO). Submit all required reports, like the Monthly Status Report (MSR), on time. Build a positive and focused team environment where everyone can grow their skills. Gather and analyze data to include creating reports on cost, schedule, and performance. Lead meetings and present information to our customer. Work with the product owner to manage communications and meet customer goals. Empower the team and make sure everyone can contribute in a meaningful way. Report any major risks or issues to the Director of Aerospace & Defense. Help RG grow by building strong relationships and finding new opportunities.
The Program Manager is an exempt, experienced business professional that has a documented track record of excellent consulting/functional performance. This individual provides subject matter expertise directly to customers (internal or external) in one or more of RG's core solutions. This role is responsible for leading and managing teams.
Required Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, all candidates must meet the qualifications below to be considered.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, business, or a related discipline. At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience managing federal or Department of Defense (DoD) software/IT sustainment or development projects. At least 5 years’ experience supervising multidisciplinary teams of technical, functional, and support staff. Demonstrated experience with program management for FFP government contracts. Direct experience in customer-facing roles, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of federal cybersecurity, accessibility, and systems compliance requirements Experience with developing, managing, and analyzing budgets, spend plans, schedules and associated reporting/briefs Self-motivated, possess strong analytical skills and be customer oriented Ability to clearly communicate ideas to others verbally and in writing Highly experienced and proficient with standard business tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and/or Project) and web-enabled collaboration platforms/applications Current NACI or ability to obtain

Master’s degree or advanced training in a relevant discipline 15+ years' experience with at least one or more of the following: DoD acquisition processes, DoD/Air Force program management, Industry or Government business management 10+ years supervisory experience Outstanding organizational skills, especially the ability to prioritize, focus on the project’s critical components and ignore unnecessary or distracting work The ability to not only remain calm but to thrive under pressure Excellent communication skills, essential for collaborating with teams and talking with management and other non-team individuals Ability to work well with others Superior critical thinking capabilities, including the ability to think on their feet Showing comfort with quickly changing priorities, plus a highly developed mentality for adaptability and flexibility Project Management Professional (PMP) certification ITIL, Agile/Scrum, or similar process certifications Experience with Air Force depot maintenance or defense logistics information systems Experience managing remote teams and complex matrix organizations Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and cybersecurity compliance frameworks (e.g., RMF, NIST) Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (estimated at one week per month)
