Handle high-exposure, complex bodily injury and property damage claims across the U.S. (excluding New York). Manage all aspects of claim handling, including investigation, coverage analysis, evaluation, and litigation management. Evaluate claims, develop case resolution strategies, and handle mediations and trials for complex claims. Develop and implement claim resolution strategies, including identifying claims suitable for trial. Retain and direct defense counsel on litigated cases. Communicate with Underwriting regarding industry trends and legal developments impacting product lines. Assist Underwriters in reviewing policy submissions as needed. Lead special projects and perform other duties as required. Occasional travel for mediations and trials. Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or related field. 8+ years of relevant legal or insurance experience with general liability claims. Juris Doctorate with insurance coverage or defense litigation experience is beneficial. Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies
Experience handling liability claims involving bodily injury and property damage, with significant exposure under primary and excess policies, especially in southern U.S. states and California. Strong knowledge of case law, statutes, and procedures affecting general liability claims; experience with various insurance risks (construction, premises liability, marine, etc.) is a plus. Proactive investigation, risk transfer, strategic handling, and claims resolution skills are essential. Excellent writing and communication skills for effective interaction with insureds, claimants, underwriters, and management. Compensation Overview
The salary range is $121,763 - $177,469, with total rewards including bonuses, stock ownership, and benefits. The actual offer depends on location, experience, and qualifications. Additional Benefits
