Full-time, Exempt About the Role: We are seeking a strong, hands-on
Shift Operations Manager
to lead and oversee all plant operations during the
D Shift . This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and overall performance by managing cross-functional teams across the entire plant. While not a subject matter expert (SME) in any one area, this role requires strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills to ensure smooth shift execution and alignment with production goals. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all operational activities across production, maintenance, quality, and logistics during D Shift. Ensure safe operations and compliance with company safety standards and policies. Monitor plant performance and key metrics, proactively addressing any issues that impact productivity or quality. Act as the primary decision-maker and escalation point for all operational matters on shift. Drive shift start-up and shutdown processes, ensuring continuity across shift changes. Coordinate with department leads and supervisors to ensure alignment of resources and priorities. Conduct regular walkthroughs, monitor workflows, and identify improvement opportunities. Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Plant Manager and other shift managers. Provide coaching, performance feedback, and development support to team members. Ensure proper documentation of shift activities, incidents, and production outcomes. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, with 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role. Strong knowledge of production operations, safety protocols, and performance management. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage shift-level accountability. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure. Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across departments. Willingness to work night/weekend shift and be on-site during shift hours. Preferred Profile: A team-oriented leader who can manage across multiple departments, ensure smooth plant operations during off-hours, and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration.
