An Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of six to eight Engineers in support of Cell Culture and Purification activities within Biologics manufacturing. This professional applies scientific, engineering knowledge, and mathematics to lead equipment and process troubleshooting, New Product Introduction (NPI), manage/support medium to large projects, equipment optimization, and maintain area priorities. The Engineering Manager has general knowledge of related disciplines beyond their own area of expertise. Responsibilities
Develop and assign work for a team supporting Cell Culture and Purification operations. Mentor staff and serve as a technical leader. Assess and prioritize objectives and translate them into actionable work streams. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and quality standards. Manage project design, risk assessments, and implement fallback strategies. Oversee environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements and promote continuous improvement. Monitor manufacturing processes, lead troubleshooting, and communicate with stakeholders. Support New Product Introduction activities, including equipment walkdowns, batch review, and vendor collaboration. Build relationships, communicate effectively, and document agreements. Interpret problems, create or modify design solutions, and improve methods and processes. Plan and execute medium to large projects, manage multiple tasks, and communicate progress. Design experiments, analyze data, and develop solutions for complex problems. Apply innovative technologies and mentor others. Interact with management and external personnel, participate in standards development, and support validation strategies. Support project definition, capital expenditure requests, and facility planning. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or related field; 8+ years of relevant experience preferred. Postgraduate degree is a plus. Proven technical contributions and strong knowledge of engineering concepts. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Technical background in pharmaceuticals, biologics, or similar industries. Additional Information
Salary range: $106,500 - $202,500. Comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, insurance, 401(k), and incentive programs. This job is eligible for short-term and long-term incentives.
