To provide set-up services for routine and special events. To provide rented tables, chairs, tents, etc. for various events held on campus. To receive, process and distribute items to and from campus and among locations on campus.Job Description:Responsibilities:Provide delivery, set-up and take down services for tables, chairs, tents, trash cans, etc. to support campus events.Provide production/set-up services for various locations on campus in support of event space rentals.Must be able to work independently and make decisions based on event needs. Team will be separated often, leaving workers to make some decisions regarding set up needs or changes.Learn technical aspects of event set up, including; microphone, power supply, HDMI, and other electronic elements of event set ups.Provide moving services for office relocation. Pick- up surplus furniture from campus locations to be added to surplus inventory or disposed of as applicable.Deliver furniture from the surplus warehouse to campus locations as requested. Check all tables, chairs, tents, etc. for damage and cleanliness. Clean or repair items as needed.Help to maintain accurate records for all fixed assets entered into surplus. Assist with the storage, sorting, and disposal of surplus metal items on campus.Provide assistance in preparing for surplus auctions.Accept freight shipments and packages from outside sources and check freight against shipping ticket for accuracy.Inspect damaged items to determine the need to accept or refuse the merchandise.Enter all incoming parcels into the package tracking system. Promptly deliver packages (USPS, FedEx, UPS, office supplies, etc.) and obtain signatures as necessary to establish "chain of custody" procedures for items received on campus.Provide delivery service of custodial supplies as required.Provide pick-up and delivery services for parts/materials/supplies required to support Facilities Services' projects and jobs.Promptly deliver merchandise received from freight carriers to designated campus locations.Provide a variety of support services to assist campus departments in operational functionsComplete work order forms or other paperwork necessary to document completed assignments.Serve as a back-up when needed in the stockroom. Learn inventory procedures to assist with inventory management; including issue entry, writing up and receiving inventory to stock, completing paperwork necessary to complete inventory transaction, learn the inventory software system to serve as back-up when necessary. Completes other assignments as assigned by supervisor. Follow all safety procedures.Complete performance review process with supervisor to understand job performance expectations and how they fit into department and university goals.Communicate openly and recognize contributions of co-workers and supervisor.Pursue professional development to keep pace with demands for services and information; including maintaining up to date information about the department and university.Relationships: Frequent contact with members of own work unit, immediate supervisor, members of other departments, students, general public, and vendors to exchange factual information and explanation of rules, regulations, practices, or functions.Responsibility for Final Decisions: Tasks are well-defined and repetitive, following prescribed steps, methods and/or procedures. Work involves limited choice with regard to the selection of appropriate tools, methods or materials.Some work will be performed independently with no supervision, employees must be able to self-manage and make decisions regarding needs and availability.Errors are readily detected in the normal course of work by standard check or crosscheck.Reports To: Warehouse ManagerCompleted work is referred to supervisor for review.Education/Skill Requirements:High School graduate with 1-2 years of experience in related field.Ability to accurately read pick-up and delivery instructions and record job information (hours, tasks, etc.)Valid S.C. driver's license.Must be team oriented.Ability to operate equipment.Ability to work independently.Good written and oral communication skills.Work Conditions: Work requires continuous lifting, carrying, climbing stairs, reaching, walking and stooping.Warehouse positions all require the ability to walk, stoop, bend, reach, get in and out of vehicles, and to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. unassisted on a daily basis.
