Senior Underwriter - Property and Casualty
AXA XL provides Integrated Environmental Risk Management tailored solutions combing underwriting, risk engineering and specialized claims management. A pioneer in the environmental insurance marketplace, AXA XL provides attentive service, environmental expertise, quality products and a long-term commitment to the marketplace.
The position is responsible for the profitable production and underwriting of Property & Casualty lines for environmental risks in the United States.The position supports the successful execution of the unit's strategic plan, including excellent service standards.
What you’ll be doing
What will your essential responsibilities include?
Manages and underwrites profitable book of Property and Casualty renewals and new business per AXA XL Guidelines. Cultivates key client and broker relationships. Reviews submissions per authorized guidelines. Prices, quotes and binds business. Advocate and cross sell other AXA XL product lines to further drive the AXA XL business as a whole. Support unit's service standards in delivery of product. Participate in volunteer or special projects as needed. Some travel required.
You will report to the Head of Environmental P&C.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the commercial insurance industry. Moderate to extensive underwriting property and casualty lines of business.Includes General Liability, Automobile, Umbrella/Excess, Workers Compensation and Property/Inland Marine. Solution oriented, marketing focused and collaborative. Outstanding time management skills. Ability to work in an environment with complex transactions under strict deadlines. Ability to handle a large volume of accounts with the flexibility to take on overflow business from other teammates when needed. Ability to execute business strategies. Ability to establish broker-client relationships. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding negotiation skills. Outstanding team player who is willing to work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment. Education: Bachelor's Degree required.INS, CPCU, ARM or AU coursework preferred. Travel is estimated at 25%

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $106,500 to $186,500 USD.
Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
