Multi-Asset Solutions, "MAS" is an investing group within the Asset and Wealth Management Division at Goldman Sachs. MAS is responsible for managing customized multi-asset class portfolios and funds in a discretionary manner for institutional clients. Our clients include US and international corporate and public pension plans, insurance balance sheets, endowments, foundations, healthcare institutions, and sovereign wealth funds. The team is comprised of professionals with deep and varied investment backgrounds who specialize in designing and implementing customized multi-asset class portfolios. The team applies rigorous techniques to strategic and dynamic asset allocation, asset-liability analysis, portfolio design and implementation, risk management, and portfolio reporting and analytics. The team has been managing customized multi-asset class mandates since 1995 as a committed partner to large institutions globally.

Role: The successful candidate would become a member of our investment team based in New York responsible for fundamental credit research and analysis in support of multi-asset portfolio construction and generation of cross sector relative value views for our Insurance OCIO portfolios. This role is critical to the continued success of our multi-asset insurance platform and will coordinate closely with MAS' research, portfolio management and client teams. This role is highly analytical and detail-oriented, and serves as the critical bridge between MAS' research, portfolio management and client teams.

Core Responsibilities:

Conduct fundamental credit analysis across public credit sectors (e.g., corporate, ABS), with a special focus on structured credit (e.g. CLOs, CMBS) and ability to translate the skillset into private credit universe (e.g. whole loan, private ABS)

Evaluate relative attractiveness of corporates, structured products and private credit across return, yield, and risk

Work closely with MAS portfolio management and client teams to construct long term strategic asset allocations for Insurance OCIO portfolios by providing key inputs on credit asset allocation, taking into account client specific constraints

Recommend actionable portfolio construction enhancements and opportunistic trades across the credit spectrum utilizing individual research and the resources of the broader organization

Coordinate with underlying fixed income managers to understand positioning and views within Insurance portfolios and use as input in overall multi-asset credit view generation

Basic Qualifications:

At least 2 years of relevant credit research, with successful track record of generating positive return from candidate's views

Master's Degree or equivalent preferred

Background in structured credit research preferred

Experience working with Insurance portfolios preferred

Experience in working within a dynamic, global team; demonstrated leadership potential

Advanced degree or CFA designation preferred

Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

A self-starter able to work independently and thrive in a team environment

Consistently positive attitude and eagerness to work in a team-centric environment

Risk management and control orientation

Excellent writing and communication skills

Strong interest in the financial markets, good investment awareness, intermediate or advanced knowledge of asset allocation principles and of factor investing approaches

Ability to communicate investment strategies and rationales to audiences of varying levels of sophistication

Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; Bloomberg, Reuters, and financial data systems knowledge preferred

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$170000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
