Responsible for ensuring the maximization of the revenue cycle by working in conjunction with the Dental CBO and Institutional Compliance to oversee and manage billing and coding investigations, auditing and monitoring initiatives, developing policies and procedures. Responsible for ensuring the maximization of the revenue cycle by working in conjunction with the Dental CBO and Institutional Compliance to oversee and manage billing and coding investigations, auditing and monitoring initiatives, developing policies and procedures. Responsible for effectively communicating information and audit findings through presentations graphs, reports and educational material.
Responsibilities
Conducts regular internal audits of dental records, claims and coding practices to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations, (e.g.., HIPAA, False Claims Act, etc.) Assists department leadership with revenue operational functions to ensure revenue flow is aligned with the strategic goals of the department. Analyze billing and coding data to identify trends, patterns and outliers that may indicate compliance risks. Design and deliver engaging training programs for billing and coding staff that result in improved coding accuracy Provides financial and business support in the areas of charge capture, denials management, billing and compliance within the department and clinical sites. Serves as an internal liaison with other departments that have revenue, coding concerns/questions; works closely with Compliance to ensure department complies with organizational policies, procedures and protocols. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to apply logic and draw conclusions based on knowledge. Possess the ability to refer to reference materials to solve problems. Computer Skills – Ability to learn and use all functions of electronic medical record software and transcription software. Must accurately enter data into a database, search for information, send and receive email and attachments. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word in order to prepare correspondence, medical reports, and other documents. Must use Microsoft Excel to prepare flowcharts and organize data. Must use the internet to access schedules, research information, etc. Critical Thinking Skills - Ability to arrive at accurate conclusions and solutions by visualizing new potentials, and by identifying, defining and analyzing problems and situations using rational and intuitive processes. Leadership - Ability to attract and mobilize energies and talents; to work towards a shared purpose in the best interests of the organization, the people comprising it and the people it serves. Communication - Ability to shape others’ understanding in ways that capture interest, inform and gain support.
Education
Associate’s degree is required.
Required Skills
Eight (8) years experience in related field and/or combination of relevant degree and experience equivalent is required. Seniority level
