Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an

Advanced Reactor thermo-mechanical and structures analyst

to work in our Nuclear Safety Analysis department. Our team works on a 4x10 schedule at the Materials and Fuels Complex, with every Friday off. You will analyze the thermal and mechanical behavior of structures, systems, and components for advanced reactors under normal operating conditions, natural phenomena hazards, and accident conditions for demonstration activities at INL. Responsibilities Include:

Analyze the behavior of advanced reactor core components under various conditions to support reactor operations. Verify compliance with industry codes such as ASME Boiler Pressure Vessel Code. Support and perform confirmatory calculations and planning for safety analyses. Plan, schedule, and track reactor analyses and testing activities. Collaborate with design, safety organizations, and external partners. Participate in resolving complex engineering problems and contribute to technical decisions. Serve as the system engineer for reactor core components at the Materials and Fuels Complex. Qualifications:

Level 3: Bachelor's in mechanical engineering with 5 years relevant experience or advanced degree with fewer years. Level 4: Bachelor's with 9 years, Master's with 6 years, PhD with 4 years of relevant experience. Experience with thermal and mechanical analysis, CFD, and relevant software such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, STAR-CCM+, MOOSE. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" clearance, requiring US citizenship. The ideal candidate will have:

An advanced degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited institution. Experience in nuclear fuels, reactor physics, thermal hydraulics, and related areas. Job Information:

Pay range: Level 3 ($93,204 - $191,076), Level 4 ($111,888 - $229,284). This is a testing designated position requiring pre-employment drug screening. This is a multi-level posting; placement depends on experience and skills. Physical Requirements:

Stand, walk, sit, and perform laboratory and field work. Handle materials, operate equipment, and occasionally lift up to 35 pounds. Visual and auditory capacity required. Benefits and Relocation:
