Compensation The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $160,000, depending on experience and location. This range is indicative and may be adjusted. About the Role: This role is within Gen IV, an energy investment fund within LS Power, focusing on upstream, midstream, downstream, and oilfield services sectors through credit, equity, and commodities positions. The person will support portfolio managers by developing and enhancing fundamental models and market signals. The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in energy investing or analytics and is interested in strategic and entrepreneurial work. The role will evolve from modeling to contributing trading ideas and supporting overall team investments. Responsibilities

What you will do: Build, develop, and enhance quantitative models forecasting supply and demand in U.S., Canadian, and global natural gas and power markets. Conduct research to validate models and ensure their efficacy. Develop novel data analysis methods to find market insights. Simplify and automate existing processes, interact with vendor data. Manage multiple projects efficiently with minimal supervision. Take on increased responsibilities within the energy industry. Perform ad hoc analysis as directed by the SVP. Qualifications

We want you on our team because you… Have a bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or a technical field (mathematics, physics, engineering). Coursework in economics and finance is a plus. Possess a GPA of 3.75 or higher. Have work experience in the commodities industry, preferably in trading. Demonstrate programming skills in Python and R.
