SoC Validation Engineer, Amazon Devices

The team behind the innovative Silicon IP AZ1 Neural Edge, powering the latest Echo devices, is seeking an SoC Emulation Engineer to drive innovation for our customers. As part of Amazon Lab126, known for revolutionizing reading with Kindle and reimagining user experiences with Echo and Alexa, we aim to build on our successful ML accelerator at the edge. Work hard. As an SoC Validation Engineer, you will enable pre-silicon and post-silicon validation of next-generation SoCs across platforms such as emulation, prototyping, and early silicon. Your responsibilities include developing and executing test plans, designing test environments, and collaborating with architects, RTL designers, and software teams to build emulation and prototype models. Your key duties: Develop and review subsystem test plans, contributing to the SoC Verification and Validation plan. Implement tests on multiple platforms. Develop and deploy bare-metal drivers for SoC subsystems. Pre-silicon activities: create test benches, transactors, and monitors for emulation and prototyping systems; develop infrastructure for build and runtime; enhance debug capabilities. Maximize platform utilization via automation and innovations. Debug issues, pioneer new platform features, and support silicon bring-up. Post-silicon activities: continue pre-silicon efforts, port test plans, and develop tests to ensure silicon performance and functionality. Basic qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in EE, CE, or CS. 5+ years of SoC verification or validation experience. 2+ years of emulation or prototyping experience with tools like Palladium, Zebu, or Veloce. Scripting skills in Perl, Python, Tcl, or Shell. Expertise in C/C++. Strong communication and analytical skills. Preferred qualifications: Deep knowledge of SoC verification and validation processes. Experience with early silicon bring-up on reference or test boards. Key responsibilities: As an SoC Validation Engineer, you will enable validation of next-gen SoCs across multiple platforms, develop and execute test plans, design test environments, and collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams.
