We are seeking a dedicated Process Controls Engineer responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing, and maintaining equipment used to monitor and control machinery and processes. The ideal candidate will ensure that these systems and processes operate effectively, efficiently, and safely.
Responsibilities
Design and develop new control systems. Test, maintain, and modify existing systems. Provide technical guidance to Engineers, Technicians, and Operators. Work collaboratively with design engineers, operation engineers, purchasers, and other internal staff. Manage projects within cost and time constraints. Troubleshoot and solve problems. Recommend reliability improvements. Specify and purchase equipment. Assist in the development and maintenance of Process Control Narratives. Develop and maintain a 5-year rolling plan to upgrade and maintain process control equipment. Develop and program process control logic in DCS, PLC, VFDs, and SCADA systems. Accept responsibility and a level of accountability commensurate with the seniority of the position. Train engineers, maintenance personnel, and plant operators in the areas of process controls.
Essential Skills
Emerson DeltaV DCS PLC APC SCADA Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent (Electrical, Electronic, Control or Automation Engineering preferred) 5+ years of industrial experience in fast-paced environments In-depth knowledge of process instrumentation and industrial control systems including PLC programming, DCS, Panel view HMI screens, SCADA Application programming Strong experience with motor controls, HMIs, and VFDs Ability to read P&IDs and electrical schematics
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Understanding of industrial communication protocols a plus (EthernetIP, ModbusTCP/IP, HART, OPC) Understanding of Windows Hyper-V Virtual environment, Emerson Virtualization, Thin Clients a plus SAP knowledge
Work Environment
Production and R&D facility: Chemical Plant. Opportunity to work a Hybrid schedule once fully trained (2-3 days a week remote). Very little turnover at this site with a history of stability and no layoffs. Relocation assistance available with a lump sum payment on the first paycheck, up to $15,000. The role offers an 11% bonus potential based on personal and company performance, with payouts each year on March 15th.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
11% bonus potential (based on personal performance and company performance)-Payout each year is March 15th but they must actively be employed by payout date
relocation assistance, lump sum payment (taxable) on first paycheck, up to 15k
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Gonzales,TX.
