Position Summary
In this role youll provide technical support to the sales region as well as help expedite the sales cycle in support of intensive products. Well count on you to develop strong relationships with distribution and specific target customers in the region. The ideal candidate will be located near Phoenix, AZ.
This position reports to the Field Applications Engineering Manager.
What Youll Be Doing
Act as the Project Manager for opportunities involving complicated system solutions that mesh Banner platforms with industrial network systems Lead the effort to promote best practices for complex solutions within the Banner sales team and the independent sales rep teams Develop reference materials, white papers, and support videos to improve the customer experience and share internally Provide pre-sale and post-sale technical support for customers Be a resource for the regional Area Sales Managers at user plants and target OEMs Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers and distributors Attend sales calls as needed; youll also provide selling materials (samples, product information, technical documents, etc.) and presentations for key account and new product opportunities Define, coordinate, and prioritize customer feedback and ideas into engineering requirements for future enhancements, then work closely with the Area Sales Managers and engineering to implement those enhancements Promote and train on new products to distributors and target customers Develop methods and best practices for delivering outstanding service to our customers Manage internal and external brand communications with distributors and Area Sales Managers Help expand our BOM at the customer File on time, comprehensive trip reports into the SFDC account Report back on competitive products/applications at customer sites

Required
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field plus 3 years of technical sales experience in the industrial automation sector In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of experience in automation controls and technical sales Experience with sensors, measurement and condition monitoring solutions, remote I/O, lighting applications and/or PLC programming. Experience using and maintaining a CRM Great relationship-building skills Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments, and projects Strong problem-solving abilities Successful history of proposing and implementing new solutions Willing and able to travel to customer and distributor locations for an estimated 40% of the time to cover the assigned territory; travel may include two to four trips annually to Banners headquarters in Minnesota
