Job Description
Supervisor, R&D Broadcom’s Mainframe Software Division (MSD) is seeking an exceptional software engineering supervisor passionate about building mission-critical and complex software products. You will manage an engineering team and carry multiple roles, including: Product leader – Assist the Product Owner (PO) in evangelizing the product and its future direction.
Engineering leader – Lead your development team in DevSecOps practices and product code quality.
Development coach – Mentor team members to enhance their development skills.
Performance manager – Monitor and communicate team performance and improvement data.
Mainframe systems are central to the digital economy, with 80% of the world’s structured corporate data residing on or originating from mainframes, and 55% of enterprise applications interfacing with mainframes to complete transactions. Lead a team of engineers in product development, technical design, and successful delivery to support Mainframe Security and Compliance products.
Manage and coach your team through effective 1-1s, career guidance, mentorship, and ongoing feedback.
Ensure high technical standards by driving engineering excellence and culture (CI/CD, automation).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Program Management, Design) to plan and define the product roadmap and manage dependencies.
Communicate decisions and issues effectively both upwards and downwards.
What We Look For
Proven leadership experience in engineering with a track record of delivering complex solutions in fast-paced environments.
Experience in code reviews, refactoring, and gathering code quality metrics.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent relationship-building and organizational abilities.
Experience with Agile development, test-driven development, and a passion for automation.
8+ years of relevant industry experience, including 1-2 years in a team lead or management role.

Compensation and Benefits: The annual salary range is $108,000 - $172,800. This position may also include a discretionary annual bonus and equity, as per company plans and agreements. Broadcom offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation.
