Qualifications
You'll have... A bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Optical Science and Engineering, or related field. At least 1 year of experience in automotive exterior lighting development or Optical Engineering. Experience using optical knowledge for global regulatory markets (NA, ECE, CCC). Experience performing headlamp performance evaluations, Computer-Aided Engineering simulations (AVx, SPEOS, LucidShape, LucidDrive), mechanical and electrical engineering tasks, and software development. What you’ll do: As a Lighting Optics Engineer based in Dearborn, MI, you will define requirements, design, validate, and launch exterior lighting products. Lead cross-functional teams, serve as a headlamp optical expert for global markets, perform evaluations and simulations, develop test methods, and support intellectual property development. You will also support Total Value Management efforts and lead meetings with suppliers and internal teams.
